WOLVERHAMPTON v STARS, PREVIEW

Sunday April 30, 2017
BOSS Dale Allitt insists King’s Lynn will not regard Monday’s trip to Wolverhampton as a free hit after exceeding his initial Bank Holiday weekend target.

The Stars head to Monmore Green (6pm) on the back of Friday’s 46-44 success at Somerset – their first away win of 2017.

Grand Prix star and spearhead Chris Holder returns alongside two-point reserve Josh Bailey with Allitt keen to see his charges take every opportunity on a track known for being tricky for visiting riders.

“Having Chris back will be good,” said Allitt. “It is always hard going to Wolves but everyone is there to be beaten and if we ride to our potential, we have a good chance of getting something out of the meeting.

“We will be going there full of confidence after Somerset but staying realistic at the same time. It is hard to get points on the road wherever you go.

“It would not have been a disaster to get a couple of points from Somerset and Wolves but all team managers are greedy and now we have the win from Friday, we want more and will be taking anything we can get.”

Stars will have to do without reserve Kai Huckenbeck who is required to ride in Germany.

“It is a little bit controversial,” said Allitt. “He has to do the German league meeting because the ramifications are not good if he doesn’t.

“After being talked about by the BSPA and SCB for the past three or four weeks, we only have the option of a National League rider.

“Dan Halsey comes in and we know he will give everything. Hopefully, it will be his chance to shine.”

Wolves track a full one to seven, including recent recruit and ex-Star Rory Schlein.

WOLVERHAMPTON: Freddie Lindgren, Kyle Howarth, Rory Schlein, Jacob Thorssell, Sam Masters, Mark Riss, Nathan Greaves.

KING'S LYNN: Chris Holder, Lewis Rose, Nicklas Porsing, Troy Batchelor, Robert Lambert, Dan Halsey (guest), Josh Bailey.
