KING’S Lynn boss Dale Allitt has urged his side to regroup ahead of Monday’s Knockout Cup second leg with Wolverhampton at Monmore Green (7.30).

The Trucks R Us Stars slipped to a disappointing home defeat at the hands of Belle Vue on Thursday despite a brave late fightback.

It was their second straight loss on home shale after going down 54-36 to Wolves a week earlier, leaving them with an 18-point deficit to overcome heading into the return fixture.

Allitt knows they are up against it in the West Midlands – but he is nonetheless keen to see them bounce back to top form as they prepare for an away clash at Belle Vue in the SGB Premiership on Wednesday (7.30).

“We’ve got a big week coming up with two away meetings in three days,” Allitt said. “We’ve just got to pick ourselves up and regroup like we always do after the disappointment of the defeat at home.

“We’ve gone well away from home this season, and although we’re up against it at Wolves we won’t give up. We’ll give it our best and try to put in a good performance regardless of the aggregate result.”

The Stars hand a debut to new signing Danny Ayres, who rides at Monmore Green for National League club Cradley.

Meanwhile, Wolverhampton have brought in Max Clegg to guest for the injured Mark Riss at reserve.

WOLVERHAMPTON: Freddie Lindgren, Kyle Howarth, Rory Schlein, Jacob Thorssell, Sam Masters, Max Clegg, Nathan Greaves.
KING’S LYNN: Troy Batchelor, Thomas Jorgensen, Kai Huckenbeck, Robert Lambert, Chris Holder, Lewis Rose, Danny Ayres.
