KING’S LYNN have been dealt a blow ahead of tonight’s Knockout Cup second leg at Wolverhampton.

Already trailing 54-36 from the first leg, the Stars will now be without British ace Robert Lambert who hurt his neck and sustained a broken wrist riding for Newcastle on Sunday – and is now focusing on doing all he can to ensure he is fit for Event 1 of the Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup at Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena this Saturday.

In a post to his Facebook racing page, Lambert said: “The wrist is broken where it was two years ago.

“I’m getting physio today on my neck and wrist to try and get movement then I’ll make a decision when I can start racing again.

“I need to be fit for the World Cup!”

The Stars have no other option but to operate rider replacement at Monmore Green in a meeting where new reserve Danny Ayres will make his debut.
