KING’S Lynn boss Dale Allitt believes they are well-placed to head to Belle Vue and get a result on Wednesday (7.30).

The Trucks R Us Stars put in a battling performance at Wolverhampton on Monday and demonstrated plenty of positives in their 48-42 Knockout Cup second leg defeat.

Allitt is adamant they are capable of even better as they return to SGB Premiership action against the table-topping Aces at the National Speedway Stadium.

They are awaiting a decision on Robert Lambert’s fitness as he continues to undergo treatment on a wrist injury suffered at the weekend.

But Allitt is nonetheless looking to avenge their narrow home defeat when the sides met at the Adrian Flux Arena last week.

“The meeting at Wolverhampton has set us up nicely for Wednesday,” Allitt said. “We proved we can compete with anyone, and Belle Vue is a track which suits us.

“Kai (Huckenbeck) will go better there, and we all ride their track quite well. We went there and won last year, and I think we’re capable of going there and winning just like they did at our place.

“Hopefully Robert’s treatment has gone well and he can join us, but if he can’t we’ve shown that we can cope.”

The Aces claimed an impressive away win at Poole on Monday.
